Access the Dales is proud to host five wheelchair hubs located in the heart of the Forest of Bowland.
Cobble Hey Farm

Cobble Hey Farm is a working family-run farm nestled in the Forest of Bowland,
offering panoramic views over the Wyre Valley and out towards the coast, it also has
a strong commitment to sustainability, being home to habitats which support wading
birds, maintaining pesticide-free gardens, and a bird hide, which is wheelchair
accessible. We offer a wheelchair hub on the farm, meaning you can book in
advance to use a Tramper when visiting the Farm.

New Laund Farm

Set in the Hodder Valley of the Forest of Bowland, New Laund Farm is a striking
blend of natural beauty, heritage and farming. The farm lies near the village of
Whitewell, within the Duchy of Lancaster's Whitewell Estate and is a historically protected
area. We have a wheelchair hub at the farm where Trampers can be booked in
advance. We are holding a 4-mile circular walk at the Farm on the 5t of September,
which you can book through our website
Keasden Head Farm

Keasden Head, located on the northern slopes of the Bowland Fells, offers a
landscape of moorland, woodland, streams, grassland and traditional hay meadows,
this diverse upland environment is an attraction worth visiting. With sustainable
livestock rearing, restored wildlife habitats and visitor-friendly facilities, it’s an ideal
spot to visit with children to explore and appreciate the natural environment and rural
landscapes. Our wheelchair hub offers a TerrainHopper and a Tramper available to
borrow.
Wood End Farm

Situated at Dunsop Bridge, Wood End Farm spans about 1200 acres, nestled in the
tranquil upland terrain of the Forest of Bowland. Home to alpacas, pigs, sheep and a
Shetland pony, this makes for a great family day out. Visitors have to option of going
for alpaca walks up along the fields where you get the chance to make some furry
friends and enjoy the scenery. Our hub and Wood End Farm offer 1 Tramper and 2
TerrainHoppers and selected farm routes are suitable for assisted mobility and stunning
viewpoints like the nearby Queen's View.
Whinney Hill Farm

The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre (BTRC) is a charitable organisation devoted to the welfare, retraining, and rehoming of retired racehorses. Nestled in the picturesque countryside north of Lancaster, it offers visitors the chance to enjoy 180 acres of stunning farmland.
For those who need it, a TerrainHopper — equipped with right-hand and carer’s controls — is available to borrow, allowing you to explore the scenic surroundings of Halton at your leisure.
During your visit, you can also tour the Thoroughbred Centre, explore the stables, and meet the horses in person. If you’d like to arrange a stable tour, simply contact the Centre to make your booking.
