Jonathan Smith, from Where2walk, will lead the walk and he will be joined by John Alp, who farms at New Laund. New Laund Farm, once part of a medieval deer park, is now part of the Whitewell Estate, owned by the Duchy of Lancaster, under the King's stewardship. The farm features caves and swallow holes, suggesting that the area was a hub of human activity in prehistoric times. There are also some lime kilns scattered throughout the area.
