Supporting the Dark Skies Walk event directly benefits Access the Dales, our charity dedicated to making the beautiful landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales accessible to everyone, regardless of physical ability. Many outdoor areas, especially rugged terrains like the Dales, are challenging for people with mobility issues. Access the Dales works tirelessly to remove these barriers by providing all-terrain wheelchairs, organising inclusive events, and advocating for accessible paths and facilities.

By participating in or donating to events like the Dark Skies Walk, you’re not only enjoying a unique experience but also contributing to a broader mission: making nature accessible to all. Funds raised help the charity to maintain and expand its fleet of all-terrain wheelchairs, organise more inclusive outdoor events. This support empowers people with disabilities to explore and enjoy the beauty of the Dales, creating an inclusive outdoor community and ensuring that everyone can benefit from the mental and physical health advantages of nature.

In short, your support allows Access the Dales to continue breaking down barriers in the outdoors, enabling more people to connect meaningfully with nature.
