Dark Skies at Grimwith Reservoir

Join Access the Dales for an evening beneath the dark skies at Grimwith Reservoir. Wrap up warm, bring your sense of adventure and enjoy the countryside after sunset.
We’ll meet at the sailing club at 5.30pm, ready to set off at 6pm. An astronomer will join us to help unravel the wonders above, pointing out what to look for and bringing a telescope for a closer look, weather permitting. The circular walk is about 4 miles and will take us around 2 hours to complete.
The sailing club will provide a warming supper of jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings, hot drinks and plenty of cake, costing £8.50 per person. Stargazing is hungry work—or that’s our excuse for a second slice!
Please wear warm layers and sturdy footwear, and bring a torch. Clear skies would be lovely, but good company and cake will help make the evening special whatever the weather.
