Ilam Park is a beautiful National Trust country park in the Staffordshire Peak District, close to Dovedale. Set beside the River Manifold, the park offers sweeping views across the surrounding hills, including the distinctive Thorpe Cloud.

At the heart of the park stands the impressive Gothic-style Ilam Hall, now home to YHA Ilam Hall. The nearby village of Ilam, with its charming Alpine-style cottages, adds to the area’s distinctive character.

With open parkland, riverside scenery, woodland and accessible paths, Ilam Park is a peaceful place to enjoy nature at a relaxed pace. It provides a wonderful setting for meeting new people, sharing time outdoors and discovering a new area with Access the Dales

The YHA Festival of Walking is a nationwide celebration encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get outdoors, explore new places and enjoy walking together. A programme of friendly, guided social walks takes place from YHA hostels across England and Wales, offering opportunities to connect with nature, improve wellbeing and meet new people. Access the Dales is delighted to be part of the festival, helping to ensure that wheelchair users and people with limited mobility can share in the experience.
